Through closing one door, I opened another. As I pushed through challenging circumstances, I learned a valuable lesson that taught me how to find the positive side of any situation.
As I walked into the room, someone was already speaking. I thought I was 15 minutes early, but with a group gathered around the table and discussion clearly underway, I stepped quietly across the carpet. The man sitting at the head of the table patted the chair next to him and I took a seat. I did not realize this was not the game of Cashflow I had signed up for – it was a real estate investor mastermind.
When the recession hit, I had to close down my spa, a business I poured a decade’s worth of blood, sweat and tears into. As a single mother with two children at home, I did not pause. I went right into my next step – real estate investing. I began my real estate career not long before I wound up in that conference room surrounded by a group of experienced investors.
I have always been persistent, and throughout 15 years spent in mergers and acquisitions as well as 10 years running my own business, I built up my stress tolerance. I learned to focus not on problems but rather on solutions. Part of my success I owe to my brother, who always called me out on everything. He told me the truth even when it was hard and I did not want to hear it. He always encouraged me not to be a victim and to look beyond whatever obstacle I was facing and do something about it.
It was not easy closing my spa, but high-end services simply were not in a place to support my family. I looked ahead to what had interested me for a long time – real estate. Of course, the market was at its worst, but I was excited to get started. From the beginning, I did the work and found ways to keep going. Failure was not an option for me.
Sure, I had setbacks from time to time, but after each one, I got up and kept pushing ahead.
My children are my why and what I am most proud of in my life. They are all so successful on their own, and I could not be happier with all the amazing things each one is doing. In the years after becoming a REALTOR®, I met Lyle, my husband, and between the two of us we have four children who mean the world to me, as well as our grandchildren.
Every struggle I face, I look for the good. I was not always a positive person, but I became one as I discovered that our thoughts are where everything begins. Years ago, I became an interfaith minister, and I began to have faith and focus on the positive. I look for the good in a situation because I know a lesson and a blessing are hiding somewhere inside each challenge.
Stumbling into the mastermind that day was just one of many instances of synchronicity I have received throughout my life. If we remain open, miracles happen every day.
I have been a licensed REALTOR® since 2010 and investing in real estate since 2008.
Whenever I am not working, I enjoy antiquing and rescuing animals. I have been working with a local shelter and rescuers across the country for years. Since then, I have trained and rehomed around 98 animals into their forever homes. My favorite part of being a REALTOR® is seeing all the happy faces at closing as everyone achieves their dreams.
Wherever you are on your real estate journey, if you choose me as your REALTOR®, I will walk you through this process. Real estate can be complicated with endless obstacles, but I never let that stop me. Instead, I will make sure you have all the information you need while utilizing my huge network and over a decade of experience to help you reach your goals.
I know the communities and neighborhoods here inside and out. For every step of the process, I have a reliable vendor to help. With special expertise in marketing, I know how to sell your home for top dollar. As an investor, I can recognize problems in a property and will make sure you know and understand every detail of the home you choose. With my extensive experience in residential, new construction, land, and investment, I am confident I can help you get where you want to be. Once the transaction is over, I will continue to support your goals as your lifelong REALTOR®.
